New York's Daily News has a new editor in chief just two weeks after Michael Cooke resigned from the position. Martin Dunn will add Cooke's duties to his current responsibilities as editorial director. Also at the Daily News, Orla Healy, currently the fashion editor for the New York Post, has been named as managing editor for features. She is expected to start her new position in January.

Michael Clemente has taken on the role of executive producer for ABC's digital news media. In his new position, Clemente will oversee production and editorial content for ABC News Now, ABC News on Demand and all broadband and mobile platforms used by the network. Clemente has been with ABC since 1977 and helped launch ABC News Now in July 2004.

Anthony Losanno has been promoted to senior associate editor at Laptop magazine. He previously served as an associate editor. He has also worked as the technical assistant editor at Good Housekeeping. Laptop, a leading mobile technology magazine, provides in-depth reviews of the hottest mobile products, including notebooks, cell phones, handhelds, Wi-Fi, digital cameras, projectors and accessories.

The current newsstand issue of Radar, a general-interest magazine focused on pop culture and politics, will be its last. The publication, which officially launched in October 2004, has not attracted enough advertisers to make it commercially viable, according to its financiers. Radar was conceived by Maer Roshan, who previously worked at New York and Talk magazines

Frank Baker is the new assistant bureau chief for the Associated Press in Los Angeles. He previously worked as the news editor for the AP in Washington, D.C. In his new role, Baker is responsible for coverage in Southern California and Southern Nevada and replaces Howard Goldberg, who left the Los Angeles bureau to become the chief of bureau for New York City. Baker joined the AP in 1988 and has held several editorial positions at bureaus in New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Tennessee.

Barbara Peck has joined Weekend magazine as the executive editor. She is a former features editor for Travel + Leisure. The magazine also announced the appointment of Gregory Gary to photo director. He was formerly the director of photography at Budget Living. Weekend magazine is dedicated entirely to weekend living and covers every aspect of weekend life, including food, entertaining, travel, decorating, organizing and ideas on how to spend personal time at home or away.

This Week host George Stephanopoulos has been appointed chief Washington correspondent by ABC News. He will report for World News Tonight, Nightline and Good Morning America, in addition to maintaining his current hosting duties. Stephanopoulos has been with ABC News for 10 years. ABC News is the news production arm of the national broadcast television network ABC and produces a range of news broadcasts and programs, including Good Morning America. ABC News is also responsible for ABC's news magazine shows 20/20 and Nightline.

Allure magazine named Jarrod Lacks its new fashion editor. Lacks replaces Christina Gould, who left the magazine earlier this month. Lacks previously served as Allure's accessories and fashion editorial assistant. A product of Conde Nast Publications, Inc., Allure is geared towards the professional modern woman interested in fashion, beauty and fitness. Editorial content includes the latest fashions, beauty tips, makeovers, reviews of salons and spas nationwide and articles concerning skin care and mental health.

Crain Communications, Inc. has announced plans to launch Financial Week, a magazine for corporate finance officers, in summer 2006. The magazine will cover a variety of financial topics, including financing techniques, risk management, benefits finance, accounting and compliance. A test issue is slated for June 5, 2006, with the frequency set to increase to bi-monthly by September 2006 and weekly by 2007. William Bisson will serve as the publisher of the new publication.

Beginning in 2006, Wireless Review will become a supplement of Telephony. The new supplement is expected to be published eight times annually and will be distributed to an estimated 25,000 wireless service professionals. Wireless Review will focus on wireless topics and trends and offer features, commentary, metrics and Q&A with key industry figures.

Brad Weiners is the new executive editor at Men's Journal. Weiners comes to the magazine from National Geographic Adventure and previously worked as a senior editor at Wired. Established in 1992, Men's Journal targets adventurous men interested in obtaining active lifestyles, both physically and mentally. Regular topics include outdoor recreation, health, fitness, sports, nutrition, sex, relationships and personal finance.
